Yesterday I had two of my regular clients in. Both hate getting their hair cut.
When Kerry came in I was guessing she would say “take as little off as possible” I nearly fell over when when she mentioned a bob.
We decided on a concave bob so it was shorter at the back than the front but still long enough for a low pony tail! She was so nervous but she did great and not a tear was shed.
Lisa my next client, another long haired blonde. Again hates getting much off her hair. She wanted it short at the back and longer at the front. The back needed to be cut up so she could funk it up!
So that was some if the colour and cuts that I did yesterday!
So today in training a added more blonde to Ambers hair and then gave her pastel pink highlights and a bouncy blow dry!
The with a child free afternoon me and the hubby went on a date!
First stop was little wing pizzeria in Bangor! We had the midweek special of a pizza and desert and a drink for £11.95
I had the spinach and egg pizza and Gerard had the picante. We both had a peroni beer and for desert I had roulade and Gerard had chocolate cake. It was as yummy as always!
We then went to the cinema to see 22 Jump Street!
It was light hearted comedy and everything you expect from the movie is for filled.
We then picked up our girls. After they went to bed I got the chance to try out my Jessica fusion nail treatment to help my nails stop peeling.i have had one application of it a few days ago bit today I added some colour on top. The pink, blue and orange are all from the Jessica range, the silver/metallic lilac is by Barry Mandy the red it by 17.
Hopefully in the coming weeks I’ll notice a difference in my nails.
Also in work I got my fringe cut back in!
Today I am doing a wella training day in the salon (jacqui bothwell) so I will hopefully have some new products to tell you about over the coming days!
This week has been pretty stressful at home with my kids and what not plus work, Eva’s dance school play AND doing a zip line for charity.
This week, for me in work, has been all about lighter, brighter hair and people getting the chop!
On Tuesday I had Amy in for a full head of high lights, 4 inches off her hair and a side fringe.
Thursday I had a lovely client who went from a bob to a funky crop!it took years off her!
My column has been filled to the brim with colour and trims! Yesterday I was so exhausted after a colour correction on platinum blonde hair (it was bubble gum pink when she came in) that I felt like this……
This morning I did a zip line for Jointz, the children’s sub division of arthritis care! My daughter has arthritis so it’s a worth while cause!
You can see my zipline in action on my Instagram page (link on the right)
I went to work after my zipline (after a quick change of shoes) and cut Linzi’s hair even shorter and put in a half head of high lights! You my remember Linzi’s hair from previous blog posts.
My beautiful boss surprised us all with a ring each with our nicknames in it!
I love this and can be bought from Zara Lo on Facebook (link here)
And tonight I’m off to see my eldest do her third and final night in her chitty chitty bang bang performance. She is a rag doll! I’ll put up a link of her practicing on Instagram.
It’s one of mine and her favourite movies so I’m so excited to see her in action!
I haven’t updated on what I have been up to on Friday and Saturday.
I can hardly remember what I did on those days. I know I did a few colours cuts and blow dries and an upstyle.
On Saturday night we all went to Jacquies for dinner and drink!here are a few of the terrible pics
Today is the May Day bank holiday. We went to Holywood where there is an annual May Day celebration.
Gerard, Zane, the kids and I went to the maypole dace and visited the stalls. I bought a cup from Baked in Belfast and some cupcakes from cake rattle and roll! We then had lunch in Coast restaurant. I had a chicken burger from the £5 lunch menu. It was yummy and very filling.
Here are some pictures from my day
When we got home Eva found a lady bird in the garden. She brought him in and named him Barry! She had such fun with him for hours and cried when he had to go outside!
And that’s been our weekend! Hope you all have had a good one
Today is my training day in the salon. I did one vintage upstyle and one colour, but n blow dry.
I am scared of vintage hair. I am not confident in it at all and even less so when I had someone point out how terrible I was at it.
Nicole was very nice and supportive and even when I was shaking with fear she just let me get on with what I was doing.
I did two victory rolls and bouncy curls. The tools I used were GHDs, tail comb, hair pins and hair spray.
Here are the results
Then Michelle, who does nails in our salon, came in for a colour.
I used a wella colour in intense light mahogany red brown with purple mix tone and slices of plum magma. I trimmed up the back and blended into the sides as she wanted to keep then quite long. Here is the result.
Look how beautiful and shiny her hair is. I have to say that Tina helped me out quite a bit, but that means good learning for me!
We also took this picture of some of team jb. What don’t think?
I haven’t updated in a few days (my bad)!heres what I have been up to!
On Thursday I did the last hair style for Amanda’s photography shoot!
Maddy from my work modelled and it was an evil queen theme! We did the photo shoot in Belfast castle. It was a beautiful day and I brought my kiddies with me and we had a ball!
I had to go to work so we couldnt stay long but I will definitely be going back!
Here are some pictures from the shoot!
In work I did a colour with a cut and blow dry. Then just helped out around the salon as Maddy is off until Saturday.
On Friday I did a cut and blow dry and then a colour cut and blow dry then helped out again.
Today I did a full head colour.i used three colours and used colour id which is a colouring technique where you can use 2 or more colours without needing to use foils and the colours won’t bleed into each other.
My clients hair was long and thick, when I trimmed it I put in some layers, a side fringe and then chipped into it to take some of the weight out of it. I then curled it for her and she looked like a mermaid, really beautiful!
I then did an upstyle for a young client who was going to a formal!
